He knew this day would come.
The day he and the Kingpin stood toe to toe for control of this city. However, he had envisioned it a little differently. He wouldn't have been the one caught and tied up. He hadn't gone quietly, as ten of the Kingpin's 'best' men would attest to, currently nursing broken bones and sore spots.
Things were not looking good for Daredevil. The Kingpin was flying high, so pleased with himself for having captured the vigilante. The fly in the ointment was what he called him. That tune changed when his goons unmasked him for all of them to see.
They had been beaten by a blind man.
Fisk seethed in anger against not only Daredevil but his own men for being 'plebians who couldn't kill a rat if they had to.' He'd then ordered trussed up Daredevil taken away to a secret room in his tower. One that hardly anyone knew about. This one was soundproof.
How many days ago that was, Matt couldn't say. He had managed to slip his ropes time and time again but it made no difference. The room was wired for sound, speakers on every wall. The noise that piped into the room was loud enough for someone with normal hearing. It was excruciating for Matt's super senses, every second he was in there. The sound echoing back and forth in the room, he couldn't get his bearings. Down was up, up was down. He crawled along the floor at times, trying to find a way out. But there was no way out. Time blurred together into one long session of pain and torture. All of it on video for the Kingpin to enjoy breaking the Man without Fear.
He had passed out many a time, ears bleeding, only to wake up to a henchman slapping his face to wake him up and set his chair upright again. And the noise would start again. It had gotten to the point where he couldn't think anymore. Hoping beyond hope that it would all end one way or another.

Date: 2017-01-28 02:29 am (UTC)From:Just in time for Daredevil to bust up their party.
He slowly worked his way up the wall to his feet. Determined to keep going till they were out of this building. "How much longer?" he asked, holding to a nearby shelf to stay upright. Using the staff for a cane.

Date: 2017-01-28 03:18 am (UTC)From:"Actually, the timeline seems to be undisturbed by your actions. Mr. Murdock was meant to survive."
Gideon's voice in his ear made him jump. "Eavesdropping isn't polite, you know." He moved across the room to crack the door open and glance out. The hallway was still clear. "Time to go." He was back at Matt's side. "By the way, I left you a new first aid kit. Looks like we're gonna need it when we get you out."

Date: 2017-01-28 03:26 am (UTC)From:He took a step and nearly crumpled again, grateful for Snart's help at his side. "Good...idea..." Or maybe more than one first aid kit would be needed in this case. They had to escape first. His ears agreed with the coast being clear but it wouldn't be that way for long.
"Stairs are left...then right."

Date: 2017-01-28 05:01 am (UTC)From:When they hit the stairs, he kept a tighter hold on Murdock to take all of his weight and only stopped when they reached the top of that level. He rifled through the duffel bag and found what he was looking for. "Cover your ears." As soon as Mat complied, Snart triggered the explosives in the armoury, holding tight to a railing. The force of the explosion shook the entire foundation, but the building was large enough that just one disturbed level wouldn't take the entire place down. The floor directly above the armoury, however, might need some remodeling.
"Mr. Snart, be advised that there is a less than 24% probability that you will survive your intended jump with the additional weight of Mr. Murdock." The voice chimed in in his ear again. He worked his jaw, but didn't respond. He put a hand on the stairwell door, ready to dart into the hall for another jaunt. "I have another present to plant. After this, I'm making a beeline for the Penthouse where we'll leave one more present before we hit the roof. You ready?"

"...ready."

Date: 2017-01-28 06:59 pm (UTC)From:"Not as accurate as she'd like, predicting odds off personality traits. But right now, it's just math. But I've got a plan, so it doesn't matter." That was a partial truth. He did have a plan. It just didn't involve both of them getting out of this. He came to get Matt out, and he'd be damned if he failed.
"Then, let's go." He readjusted Matt against him and continued into the hallway. He remembered seeing a server room in his search. That was his next target for the explosives.
"Is this Kingpin human? He'll die like any of us, right?"
no subject
Date: 2017-01-28 07:10 pm (UTC)From:"Yes," he wheezed, still moving as fast as he could manage. "If you count being rich and evil 'human' enough."
"Oh no, I am not like you," Fisk's voice came through the speakers in the hallway. "I can assure you, whatever he is paying you, Mr. Snart, I can triple it."
Matt set his jaw, hating that voice that seemed to chase them through the corridors. Of course, the Kingpin was watching them on his video feed. He took out one camera with the staff in his hand as they went past.

Date: 2017-01-28 07:35 pm (UTC)From:Cold tensed when he heard that voice over the intercom. Even more reason to not vocalise his plans of target locations.
"I don't doubt that." He replied to the disembodied voice bitterly. "But you seem to have me confused with a mercenary. See, I just take pleasure in depriving rich assholes of their valuables." He pulled Matt to a stop when he reached the server room. No time for picking locks. He froze the door and kicked it in, helped Matt to the ground, then hastily set the explosives.

Date: 2017-01-29 06:16 am (UTC)From:The noise started again through the speakers. Not as potent as it was in the sound proof room but it was plenty to put Matt on his knees again, grabbing his ears in pain. Not this again, all he wanted was for it to stop.
His henchmen were closing in on their position, Kingpin banking on Matt being incapacitated enough to slow them down to be caught. It was so hard to get good help these days.
Wasn't sure if you wanted him to run into any resistance or not. <3 I'm loving your Kingpin, also!
Date: 2017-01-29 06:28 am (UTC)From:Cold really had no way of easing Matt's pain, but he did give in and hoist Daredevil onto his shoulder. He steadied his balance and ground his teeth. He wasn't Mick. He didn't have the same upper body strength that his hotheaded partner did, but adrenaline was a beautiful thing in desperate situations. It helped push the body's limits. It was time to go. Now.
He began moving as quickly as possible with the man over his shoulder. He was now out of his radar detector, but he was still a world-class thief and that involved getting out before getting caught. Ideally, he wouldn't be spotted to begin with, but when is his world ever ideal? He missed Central City and just robbing the rich blind without a care in the world.
The stairs were brutal on him with the added heft, but it didn't stop him, even if it did slow him immensely. "I'm coming for you, you twisted bastard." He seethed icily.
no that works fine
Date: 2017-01-29 06:43 am (UTC)From:There's less conversation from the Kingpin as they get closer to the penthouse suite. Perhaps he realized Captain Cold was genuine in his ire against him, and so far nobody had been able to stop him. When they finally reach the top, a grinding whirring sound of an engine starting up is able to be heard over the noise left over the speakers. The Kingpin was clearing out while he still had an escape route. A hidden helicopter on the roof of his building.

Date: 2017-01-29 07:44 am (UTC)From:He shifted Daredevil off his shoulder and settled him on the ground. He patted a hand against the side of the lawyer's neck gently. "Come back to me, Matt. I need you coherent." He shrugged the duffel bag off his shoulder and pulled the parachute out. He slipped the straps over Daredevil's shoulders, buckling the straps around him and cinching them snug.
Cold cast a glance at the door to the roof. This would be dicey. Especially if, and Fisk seemed the type of man, he told his men not to let Matt and Snart out alive or die trying.
"You're in no condition to fight and I can't carry you through this. Deploy the chute immediately and the secondary should give enough drag to work. I'm gonna go with plan A and fight my way back down. Without him watching, it should be simple enough." That was a lie. He knew he was grossly outnumbered but his odds were better if he wasn't supporting Matt's weight. Even so, his odds were terrible.

Date: 2017-01-29 10:51 pm (UTC)From:"...are we still winning?" he asks tiredly. His ears slowly coming back from the ringing inside them. But when he hears Snart's plan, he wakes up quicker. His hand finding Leonard a wrist to push it back so he would stop putting the parachute on him. "You can't we need to go now. I don't like owing anyone either." He's going to be stubborn on this. The fight with Fisk is his fight. He's not having someone else die other than him because of it.
(Rescue will come after your next tag. XD)
Date: 2017-01-30 12:22 am (UTC)From:"You're not owing me, I'm repaying you. You helped me save that idiot, Raymond, remember? You also helped me out of a burning warehouse, pinned down by thugs." He insisted and tried to get Matt back on his feet so they could get onto the roof. "Look, I picked this fight knowing the repercussions it might have."
The door behind them was flung open and gunfire started spraying the walls around them. Snart had seconds to throw them both through the door onto the roof and slam it shut. He iced it over with the Cold Gun and glared at it as if daring it to open. Now he was screwed. But he knew he couldn't get Matt to jump without him if that earlier argument was anything to go by. So, he did what he did best, apart from steal.
"Go. I'll climb down the fire escapes." He insisted, as he looked over the edge. Yeah, there were no fire escapes. They were on the top story of a friggen sky scraper for lack of a better definition. It was a blatant lie, but he hoped the man's 'radar' wouldn't tell him that much.
Tagging from work woo
Date: 2017-01-30 02:26 am (UTC)From:Matt pushes himself up to his knees, determined to make a last stand here on the roof. The wind whipping through and threatening to tug them both off the roof. He chuckled despite the circumstance. "You're lying. And I'm not going anywhere." He was injured, no batons, no staff. Just his fists left and he wasn't going down without a fight. Forcing himself to get to his feet as the goons pounded on the door.
That's always fun. XD I just got off work.
Date: 2017-01-30 02:52 am (UTC)From:"Need a lift?" Rip's voice cut over the roaring in the air. He was leaning out the hatch of a concealed Waverider, holding onto a rail for support, as Gideon kept the ship steady. "I've been informed that you intended to jump? And if I'm not mistaken, that sounds like a terrible idea with just one parachute. I thought you were the smart one, Mister Snart. So, come on then. In you get. I believe you've been aboard before, Mister Murdock?" The hatch brushed the edge of the building and Len gave Matt's arm a tug. "Mister Snart is very adept at keeping secrets, however, Gideon is quite the snitch to her Captain."
"Meet the Captain of the team." You didn't really need to have sight to tell Snart just rolled his eyes as he spoke. His tone should portray it quite well. Nevertheless, Rip leaned further out the hatch to take Daredevil's hand to help guide and support him over the gap.

Date: 2017-01-30 03:16 am (UTC)From:Snart had to half pull him to get him started towards the ramp and then Matt was being helped into the ship as the door to the roof was broken down by the Kingpins thugs. Bullets starting to be fired in their direction as the ramp closed behind them. Matt kept close to a wall with one hand to steady himself against the ship's pitch and yaw as it moved under him. Wishing that he still had his mask on. He didn't like that his weakness, the one the Kingpin had exploited, was on display for all to see. "I don't think we are going to need the parachute after all."

Date: 2017-01-30 03:30 am (UTC)From:"Right. Gideon, take care of our guest. Ah," Rip had been spinning to leave the room he just followed them into when he snapped his fingers and shook a pointer finger in Leonard and Matt's direction. "and I would like to add that, when Gideon informed me of your predicament, she also enlightened me to the fact that a strange unidentified flying object was spotted over Hell's Kitchen on Doppler Radar." He let the implications of that hang over Leonard as he whirled and left. So, yes, the reason he wasn't getting a lecture was because this event was already cemented in time. It was something that was supposed to happen, as trippy as that was to imagine.
He gestured for Matt to sit on the medical table. "Sit down. Relax. And let Gideon help you while we figure out what to do with your nemesis."
your Rip is almost better than the original :D
Date: 2017-01-30 04:36 am (UTC)From:Matt's face fell as he heard the news. "Fisk," he hissed to himself. His adversary got away clean. Well, maybe not totally clean, his tower would need extensive repairing after Leonard's handiwork. At least they could be proud of that. But it knawed at his gut that the Kingpin got away again.
The table seemed ordinary enough under his fingertips. He leaned on it, working up the resolve to actually get up onto it. Letting the parachute fall off as he undid the buckle on his chest. Sitting down heavily on the table, it was apparent he was still fighting an inner battle against total exhaustion. Relax was not in Daredevil's vocabulary.
But one word was. "Thanks," he said. For getting him out of that place.
Asdfjl That's a high compliment! Thank you! owo
Date: 2017-01-31 08:20 am (UTC)From:"So, that Doppler Radar sighting was the Waverider." He knows that probably doesn't make sense, seeing as Rip said he heard about the sighting before he arrived. "Fisk was already long gone by then. Coward." By now, Matt might feel the pain receding. His wounds were rapidly healing. His hearing would be back to peak efficiency in no time, and all signs of his torture would fade. It didn't bode well in bringing Fisk to justice for what he did, as far as the legal aspect of it, but it also meant Matt wouldn't be vulnerable, either.
"He knows who you are, now. You think he'd try to abduct you from your apartment or work?" Because Snart would hunt this man down if he had to before letting Matt off the ship.
"Just repaying the debt." Translation: You're welcome.

Date: 2017-01-31 09:44 pm (UTC)From:"It's possible," he says but it's clear he isn't about to let that stop him.
His fingers walk along the bracelet on his other wrist, trying to work out what it was doing to him. He did feel much better, the constant headache starting to ease off. "Your Captain must think much of you, if he went to these lengths."

Date: 2017-01-31 10:38 pm (UTC)From:At the mention of Rip thinking highly of him, Leonard went uncomfortably quiet. He never knew what to do with compliments of that nature. "He feels responsible for us. That's all." He did lie to them to convince them to join his crazy mission.

Date: 2017-01-31 11:54 pm (UTC)From:"I told you, this team is the best at what it does. But, to be honest, we're the only team doing what we do. And what we do, is fix aberrations in the timeline. We've been hunting Vandal Savage through out the timeline and fixing his muck-ups." He paused to let that settle.
"Come with us."
"You are the last person I'd expect to pick up strays, Mr. Snart." Rip's voice cut over the intercom. Why yes, he was spying on them. And yes, Lenny sure did just ignore him.

Date: 2017-02-01 12:00 am (UTC)From:Then a piece of what Snart said sunk in. "...what do you mean by timeline?" That didn't make sense.
