The closest fire escape was proving helpful as Daredevil kept ferrying people towards it, whether they were on foot or needed assistance. He was helping a man up who was half conscious from smoke inhalation, trying to move him closer to the open window. Matt was having trouble from the smoke too, coughing as he tried to get an honest breath. He couldn't give up now.

Like a miracle, cold air swept in through the window, blowing out the fire around them. Matt felt the drop in temperature immediately, not sure what could be causing such a change. It wasn't a fire extinguisher and it wasn't the fire department, they were still a block away.

But the fresh air cleared his head and he moved with the other man looped around his arm to get to the fire escape. The man he was rescuing was in no condition to climb down so Daredevil was taking apart his nightstick for the line to lower him. There were still people in the building so he was working as fast as he could.
