Daredevil was down on his knees too when the wall fell, batons crossed to protect his face. Thanks to the Hulk, the majority of the debris and dangerous pieces missed him. The heat and smoke were intense, Matt coughing as he tried to stand up. Not realizing they were obscured from the view of the police with all the debris between them.

"We need to get out of here, David," he says urgently, hoping the other guy would understand. But they were hemmed in on all sides by the fire which was getting closer by the minute. Matt coughed in his fist, finding himself backing up closer to the Hulk. "Any ideas?"
